Happy Birthday Isabella card

So hard to believe that my youngest grand baby is turning two next week! Anyways, here is the card I made for her. (I actually forgot to snap pictures of it before getting it in the mail, so my son had to do that for me after he received it.)

I used designer paper I have hung on to forever and cut out the monkey and toucan from another piece, then traced the number 2 from a printed one using a light box before coloring and cutting it out. The letters were stamped, colored and cut out, then I brushed Diamond Glaze by Judikins over the name and the palm tree.

Here's the inside:

Shape card from Online Card Class Wildcard Day 1

I used the Stamping' Up Bigz die called "Top Note" to make this shape card, cutting two pieces of pure luxury card stock, then blending distress ink colors fossilized amber, carved pumpkin, and fired brick. The sentiment was stamped with Memento rich cocoa.

Online Card Class day 4

I was sorting through some stamp sets when I found one with a matching die, a jar set that I have had for so long I can't remember the company that made it, and thought it could make a good shaker card. So, here's what I came up with, a Valentine card for my husband. All but two of the x and o shapes were stamped and cut out. Two were little embellishments. Now I just hope I remember to give it to him in February!

Wild Card Class Inspired me!

I am taking another Online Card Class, my third, and the theme is Wild Cards. Each day we will see videos showing how to make cards that are different in that they move or slide or pop, and I thought, "You need to be inspired to makes something different!" Day 1 the cards were a gatefold with a different sort of opening, a shape card, and a 3D box card. I have made similar cards in the past, but usually with such difficulty that I thought, "I will never make this again!" But these instructors' videos are filled with tips and hints that I had not heard before (or maybe did and forgot...I have been doing this for almost 20 years, after all!) So after watching the first two videos and skimming the info about the box card, I figured I probably would NOT make the box card, just more cutting and gluing than I am into. But then the next day I remembered I needed to make a birthday card for a special friend who turns 65 today, and decided something like that is really special. She also makes cards with me and will appreciate the time I put into this one.
